2. What this policy covers
This policy covers visitors to this website and people who contact us, request a pilot or message us on WhatsApp.
It does not cover data handled by the JourneyIQ platform at a customer's forecourt. In that case the customer (the forecourt owner or oil company) is typically the responsible party and we act as an operator, processing information only on their instructions and as set out in our written agreement with them. Questions about the platform are best directed to that customer, or to us through the Information Officer above.
3. What we collect
- What you tell us. When you use the pilot request form we collect your name, work email, company, role, number of sites, bays per site and your marketing preference. If you message us on WhatsApp we see your number, name and what you write.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and hosting provider log your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and time of visit. This is needed to deliver the site securely.
- Analytics (only with your permission). If you accept analytics cookies, we use an analytics tool to learn which pages are visited and how people reach us. See our Cookie Policy.
- Preferences. Your light or dark mode choice and your cookie choice are stored in your browser.
We do not knowingly collect special personal information (such as health or biometric information) through this website.
4. Why we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and plan a pilot with you (taking steps at your request before a contract);
- send you information you asked for, and, where permitted, news and updates (see section 5);
- keep the website secure, fix problems and improve how it works (our legitimate interests, and yours, in a safe and useful site);
- understand which content helps visitors, if you have agreed to analytics (consent); and
- comply with the law and protect or enforce our rights.
5. Marketing
We only send direct marketing by electronic communication to people who have agreed (for example by ticking the box on our form) or, as POPIA allows, to existing customers about similar products. Every marketing message includes a simple way to opt out, and you can opt out at any time by writing to [PRIVACY / INFORMATION OFFICER EMAIL]. Opting out of marketing does not stop us contacting you about an enquiry or agreement you already have with us.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

- professional advisers, such as lawyers and auditors; and
- authorities or other parties where the law requires or permits it.

Some of our service providers store or process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient is bound by law, binding rules or an agreement to protect your information to a standard comparable to POPIA.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it. 10. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold information about you and give you a copy;
- correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or unlawfully held;
- stop using your information, or object to us using it, on reasonable grounds; and
- stop marketing, and withdraw any consent you gave (withdrawal does not affect use before you withdrew).
